Description

The Sr Accountant will be involved in various ongoing monthly duties as well as other axillary accounting duties.

Monthly duties include balance sheet and account analysis, reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations, all while adhering to strict timelines related to closing schedules.

Axillary accounting duties include but are not limited to, involvement in or leading process improvement initiatives, oversight and involvement related to SOX and Internal Audit requests and reviews, and International tax audit support.

  • Account analysis - both balance sheet and income statement
  • Account reconciliation review and approval
  • Understand and coordinate Intercompany transactions and related balancing
  • Meeting monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting timelines
  • Understand and support the recording of complex accounting transactions
  • Support supplemental requests from internal / external audit, business controllers, and SEC reporting teams
  • Provide SOX support for general account functions
  • Engage in conversations and implementation related to process improvement, system enhancements, and overall streamlining efforts related to areas that impact financial transaction processing.
  • Exercise sound judgement and analytical skills, working on special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong skills using Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong critical thinking skills - understanding of complex problems and solutions
  • Organizing and prioritizing workload to meet expectations
  • Oracle or SAP ERP system experience preferred but not required
  • Working in an environment using multiple ERP systems not directly connected
  • Ability to look beyond current process to help re-engineer solutions for more accurate results
  • Some experience dealing with International entities
  • Exposure to Intercompany transactions and related balancing
  • Strong accounting skills
