The role of the professional Registered Nurse (RN) reflects the values and priorities of the nursing profession. The RN is a proactive member of the multidisciplinary team that provides patient care. POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process and maintaining compliance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act. The provision of this care is to be conducted in a collaborative manner with all members of the healthcare team in order to deliver quality care and the best possible patient outcome.

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED:

    • Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution required.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
    • Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held in another state, active FL RN compact license required within 90 days of hire. Advanced Nurse Practitioner license acceptable
    · American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification required within 30 days*
    • Additional certifications as noted below and in unit-specific competencies:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse, or Advance Nurse Practitioner
  • Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 60 days of employment start date

HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is a 238-bed acute care hospital. For 40 years, we have served Bay County and the surrounding communities. We are an accredited facility offering comprehensive care. This includes advanced cardiac assessment and treatment. We offer certified womens services. Our hospital has dedicated spaces for adult and pediatric emergency services. We are certified in Advanced Primary Stroke Care. Our hospital is accredited as a Comprehensive Breast Care Center. We are the areas only Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation. Other services that we offer include orthopedic care and joint replacement, robotic surgery, cardiac, vascular, and interventional services. We are home to the only Pediatric ER in the community.
