As a Cook, you will:
- Help assist all aspects of the kitchen - preparing nutritionally balanced, attractive meals.
- Assist in keeping an accurate inventory of supplies and place orders as needed.
- Participate and assist in all aspects of prepping and preparing meals, as well as cleaning and complying with sanitation requirements.
- Work collaboratively with an innovative kitchen staff in a meaningly way that values work-life balance.
Candidates must pass required state and company background checks, and meet state and company minimum education and experience requirements:
- At least 18 years of age with a high school degree or GED required
- Relevant experience working in a licensed child care center, public school, or commercial kitchen preferred
- Food service/food handler permit or license according to state/local regulations required
- Must be willing to travel to the Bright Horizons child care centers in the greater Seattle.
- Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures required
- Practice proper health and safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced dynamic environment
