Humanities Instructor

University High School of Indiana seeks a dynamic educator to teach in our Social Studies and/or English departments beginning with the school year. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the humanities at the high school level, familiarity with and an interest in teaching in two departments, a desire to collaborate with other members of the faculty and staff, and a willingness to be involved at University beyond the classroom.

Faculty members at University High School are responsible for all tasks related to instruction, including planning, implementing, and assessing a curriculum that fits the school's mission to expand the hearts and minds of its students through academic, creative and physical achievement. Instructors also serve on school committees and support the educational system of the school as a whole. Additionally, all faculty and staff members at University High School serve as mentors to students in the school-wide mentoring program.

This is a full-time faculty position and includes benefits. Currently, our need is for three sections of social studies/history instruction and one section of English. There is some flexibility to shift the class distribution depending on the candidate.

• Bachelor's degree in the humanities, or a related field required; master's or other advanced degree preferred
• Willingness and ability to teach all levels of high school humanities, including AP World and US History courses; teaching experience strongly preferred
• Willingness to mentor required; mentoring experience preferred

• Interest in collaborating with colleagues on curriculum, assessment, and professional development required
• Facility with technology required
