We are seeking a Software Engineer to fulfill the position of System Integration and Test Engineer in support of the development and sustainment of the U.S. Navy Aegis Weapons System in Moorestown, NJ.

Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Understand overall Aegis system internal design, mission, and operating concepts.
  • Analyze system and software requirements for new and modified functionality.
  • Develop and maintain system-level test procedures based on software requirements which may occur prior to or concurrently with software development.
  • Support configuration and integrate of Aegis software components into lab equipment suites.
  • Ensure labs are configured, operational, and ready for testing.
  • Conduct regular integration testing and execute test procedures in equipment laboratories through manual operation of the system, lab equipment, simulators, peripheral devices, and test tools.
  • Analyze system data and record test result.
  • Conduct troubleshooting to identify issues, isolate issues, resolve integration issues, and document unresolved issues.
  • Capture debug and diagnostic information.
  • Support test events and on/off-site installations.
  • Schedule and coordinate lab resources.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
  • US Citizenship to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Ability to work on-site and in equipment laboratories; support testing which may occur outside regular business hours; work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, collaboration, spoken, written, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes, procedures, and Software Quality Assurance (QA)/Test methodologies; requirement management systems such as DOORS and Jazz; software change management systems such as ClearQuest; agile tracking software such as Jira; and agile methodology such as SAFe.
  • Proficient working in Unix/Linux environments; Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook); and performing work in accordance with process and policy.
  • Experience analyzing software requirements for test or implementation in software; analyzing software written in Java, C/C++, or other high-level programming languages; and experience conducting user level system and software troubleshooting.
  • 0-2 years' experience configuring and integrating software into a system of systems; operating a system of systems computer lab or equipment suite; independently developing user level system thread test procedures based on software requirements; manually executing user level system thread tests; gathering debug information; and determining root cause of system issues.

Preferred but Not Required Experience:

  • CI/CD and DevSecOps methodologies and tools.
  • SAFe or agile development methodologies.
  • RedHat, RedHawk, Solaris, PowerMax_OS, HP-RT, HP-UX, VxWorks, LynxOS, or other UNIX/Linux operating systems.
  • Jenkins, Jira, ClearQuest, ClearCase, Git, DOORS, and Artifactory.
  • Perf, oprofile, or other software profilers.
  • AN-UYK-43 computer operation or CMS-2 software development.
  • Debugging core files using debuggers such as gdb, with C/C++ executable programs.
  • ISTQB Tester Certification, ISTQB Agile Test Certification, cyber security or other software development or engineering related certifications.
