General Description: The purpose of the Program Support Specialist will be to provide military-related students with veteran benefit advising support and assistant with the first-level review of analyzing enrollment to VA., and mange the office veteran military services mailbox. This position will support the Director of Military and Veterans Services and the School Certifying Office. This position requires for the person to exhibit professional and friendly customer services; detail/accurate records/tracking, communicate with veteran students across NOVA campuses and provide on-campus office coverage as necessary. The positions will be in the Fairfax Military Services Office and when necessary will work at one of the college Military Campus officeDuties and Tasks:Responsible for performing duties of reviewing veteran benefit enrollment information with support of school certifying official.Responsible for benefit advising veterans students in their declared major and answer benefit questions as it relates to using veteran benefits, i.e. Post 911 benefits, with other eligible veterans education benefitsRespond to inquiries from Veterans students and eligible dependents of Veterans.Answer benefits and enrollment questions via telephone, email, and Military Services virtual NOVAQ.Responsible for managing the veteran military services inbox with accuracy.Responsible for program support of ordering supplies for the military services department.The Program Support Specialist works in the Office of the Military and Veterans Services, reporting to the Director.
