Summary:The Iowa Heartlanders Marketing department is seeking enthusiastic interns interested in gaining hands-on experience with a minor league hockey program. You will be paid $50 a game day, with unpaid office hours. We require 4 hours a week for office hours. This position will provide interested candidates with the opportunity to learn more about social media, graphic design, and/or videography. These highly motivated individuals will be key contributors in capturing content, continuing the growth of the Heartlanders brand digitally, and creating engaging content for Heartlander fans. Responsibilities:
  • Communications:
    • Writing featured stories, game notes, game recaps, and website content
    • Media relations and broadcast opportunities for interested candidates
  • Social Media:
    • Gathering, posting, and sharing content
    • Assist with photography
    • Implement and execute social media calendars
    • Create fun and engaging ways to generate content
    • Attend assigned games and practices
  • Graphic Design
    • Creating and editing graphics
  • Videography
    • Capturing and editing video
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Flexible schedule (shifts include nights, weekends, holidays) **Must work all home games**
  • Work effectively within a fast-paced team environment
  • Stand/walk for an extended period of time
  • Think creatively and have fun in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience using Photoshop and Illustrator (Graphic Design)
  • Knowledge and experience with Premiere (Videography)
  • Knowledge and experience with photography and editing (Lightroom)
