The Opportunity

Excited about joining our team?

  • Review and assess facility and equipment for fire protection requirements
  • Support projects in diverse areas such as Power Plants, Oil and Gas facilities, Data Centers, and Water Treatment plants
  • Effectively communicate fire protection guidelines to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Create detailed fire protection specifications, piping diagrams, and conduct hydraulic calculations
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance of sprinkler and alarm drawings with codes
  • Engage with city and local authorities
  • Apply expertise to uphold quality standards independently

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with state and local codes and standards such as IBC, IFC, NFPA, etc.
  • Experience with Power Plants, Oil and Gas facilities, Water Treatment plants, or Data Centers
  • Knowledge of construction practices and procurement principles
Minimum Qualifications

Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program and a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. Candidates must also meet pre-employment requirements, including background checks and drug screening.

Certifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing one

Work Environment/Schedule

At Black & Veatch, we offer a flexible work environment, including hybrid work options, allowing our professionals to work from locations outside the office. This role is based in our Austin, TX office.
