The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant Professor-in-Residence, Computer Science, College of Engineering [R0141394].
ROLE of the POSITION
The Department of Computer Science at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for a full time, Assistant Professor–In-Residence position commencing Fall 2024.
The position is a non-tenure track (without the ability to switch to tenure track) and will require expertise in teaching a wide variety of courses in computer science, M.S. in Data Analytics, and M.S. in Cybersecurity programs.
In addition, the position requires participation in advising undergraduate students, in the development of courses and curriculum, in projects/lab supervision and management, in service by participation in shared governance, and in grant writing for education and teaching-focused grants.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a PhD in Computer Science from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and at least 1 year of teaching experience at an 'R1: Doctoral University – Very High Research Activity' institution. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Courses taught may include database management systems, data analytics, C++ and Python programming, system programming, and cloud computing. Experience and teaching in these areas are preferred.
