As a systems engineer for Tactical Systems working on Identify Friends or Foe (IFF) programs and/or Mission Computers and Sustainment Solutions, your career will help protect the US Army, Navy, Air Force and other Government and International entities. You will be part of the product line's exciting transformation to digital systems engineering.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:
  • Performing system engineering functions such as developing and managing systems level requirements, leading functional bench test and qualification tests in electronics and environmental lab environments, and providing engineering support to production and depot evaluations and repair of field returns.
  • Perform operations, installations, integration and validation support activities at domestic and international customer locations. Develop and deliver customer training.
  • Perform algorithm development and simulation using Matlab, model-based engineering using SysML/MagicDraw, and requirements management using DOORS. Code in automated test scripting language.
  • Develop and assess supplier specifications to system requirements and assess adequacy of supplier product performance to specifications. May support or lead root cause and corrective action investigations.
  • May be a group or task lead, responsible for scheduling, assigning work, reporting progress to plans, reviewing the technical adequacy of work products, meeting cost and schedule for assigned group and interface coordination with other groups. May generate estimates, basis of estimates, and support proposals.
  • Perform full product development lifecycle in adherence to documented engineering processes.
  • Apply your subject matter expertise of Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) design and testing to AIMS and RTCA standards. Support and drive the product line common architecture and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) initiatives.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
  • This is a Hybrid position, but there may be extended periods the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work full-time onsite due to the nature of this particular role. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time as required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Scientific field. Electrical engineering foundation/skills are critical.
  • 8+ years of related experience in the Identify Friends or Foe (IFF) / Air Traffic Control (ATC) / Navigation/ Surveillance.
  • Secret clearance is required.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Both IFF Interrogator and IFF Transponder experience.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $ $208440

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
