Social Worker LCSW Position at University of Miami

The temporary Social Worker LCSW collaborates with clients to address mental and emotional health concerns. This role offers emotional support, mental health evaluations, therapy, and case management services.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Advocates for clients and assists in accessing resources while addressing personal challenges.
  • Provides counseling and crisis intervention, including assessment and treatment of behavioral issues.
  • Coaches patients on managing ongoing health conditions.
  • Delivers therapy to support positive behavior changes.
  • Guides patients and families through individual, group, and educational sessions to comprehend and adhere to treatment plans.
  • Refers patients to specialized programs as needed, monitoring their progress.
  • Collaborates with other departments for integrated care.
  • Maintains detailed documentation in patient records.
  • Acts as a mandatory reporter in cases of suspected child abuse.
  • Follows University policies, procedures, and safeguards.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • Certification in relevant specialty or field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience

DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM

The University of Miami Department of Psychiatry offers behavioral health and psychiatric consultation services to pediatric primary care practices under a contract with the Florida Department of Health. The Social Worker LCSW will play a vital role in program development and adherence to contract requirements, acting as a liaison with various stakeholders.
