Primary Responsibilities:

  • Extracts, aggregates and QA applicable data from multiple sources and tables for purposes of root cause analysis
  • Assists in leading complex analytic projects leveraging data from multiple sources
  • Understands and applies highly technical specifications to healthcare datasets
  • Serves as key healthcare economics and analytics contact for local, regional, and national OptumCare leadership and key national finance and operations stakeholders
  • Multitasks, prioritizes, adapts to change, works well under pressure in an entrepreneurial environment, meets deadlines, and manages a project from start to finish
  • Identifies and implements appropriate analytic approaches and methodologies
  • Designs, produces, and supports development of financial and operational dashboards and key performance indicator reports to meet customer requirements
  • Leverages and coordinates enterprise-wide capabilities to meet business-specific needs
  • Communicates results to relevant audiences and incorporate results into forecasting process and reporting

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance or Health Administration or related field
  • 2+ years of experience using SQL query techniques to access rational databases and using SQL as an analytic tool
  • 1+ years of experience working in healthcare analytics
  • Experience working in an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment or multiple source data warehouse
  • Expertise in MS Excel with proficiency using formulas and PivotTables
  • Proficiency in Word and Powerpoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting finance and accounting partners through an analytics focused role, including forecasting techniques
  • Knowledge of healthcare administrative data (medical claims, enrollment, provider data)
  • Proficiency with SAS, Python, R, SPSS, STATA and/or other statistical programs
  • Familiarity with Snowflake or other cloud-based query applications
  • Proven solid analytical expertise to include data analysis, statistical analysis, data manipulation, data extraction, and/or reporting
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
