Associate Principal Scientist, Systems Biology Toxicologist

Job Description
The Non-Clinical Drug Safety (NDS) organization of our company's Research Laboratories is currently seeking a Systems Biology Toxicologist lead within Investigative Toxicology at the West Point, PA site.
This scientific leadership role will drive the development, strategic alignment, and application of cutting-edge genomics assays and systems biology analytics towards the identification and mechanistic de-risking of program liabilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying and evaluating advancements in genomics, systems biology and analytics
- Working closely with the team of laboratory scientists and analysts to support development and implementation of genomic approaches
- Refining and communicating genomic strategy and pipeline program support to nonclinical drug safety collaborators, program teams and leadership
- Collaborating with program development teams on risk assessment/mitigation efforts and overseeing interpretation and communication of program-related Systems Toxicology data
- Actively participating in ongoing and future academic/industry/regulatory partnerships to advance the usage and regulatory acceptance of systems toxicology approaches, biomarkers and analytics.
- Spearheading both internal and peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
Education:
- Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. (with 4+ years), Master's (with 8+ years) or Bachelor's (with 12+ years) in toxicology, genetics/genomics, bioinformatics or related discipline and relevant industry experience
Required Experience and Skills:
- Prior experience in toxicology and/or program development
- Prior experience with modern genomics (eg single cell and spatial sequencing)
- Prior experience in systems biology analysis
- Passion for development of novel technologies and application to drug development
- Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills including ability to distill and communicate complex biological and analytical concepts to scientists from diverse disciplines
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- AI/ML-based analytics
- Mathematical programing (eg R, Python, Matlab)

U.S. Hybrid Work Model
