About the role:

As an Instrument Specialist I, you will join our dynamic and collaborative Advanced Instrument Support (AIS) team. You will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the preventive maintenance, installation, and repair of LC-MS systems (primarily Shimadzu UHPLC/HPLC systems) and other laboratory equipment
  • Documenting and reporting all service activities, expenses, and inventory in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintaining and controlling the repair parts inventory and ensuring the availability of spare parts
  • Providing technical support, troubleshooting, and training to bioanalytical chemists and other personnel on the proper use and operation of instruments
  • Participating in the monitoring and evaluation of new instrumentation and technologies and providing feedback and recommendations
  • Assisting with laboratory renovation, setup, and safety-related activities as needed
  • Assisting team members with software validation and lab testing duties
  • Performing other related duties as assigned by the AIS manager

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a closely related field
  • A strong interest and aptitude for learning troubleshooting and problem-solving procedures
  • Experience with moving parts and electricity that require safety protocols
  • Experience with laboratory analytical instrumentation, especially LC-MS systems
  • Experience working within a GLP-regulated environment and following good documentation practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to work as part of a team
