Five Below Summer Internship Program is ON Our limited open positions for Summer 2024 focus on company strategic initiatives in the exciting environment of value driven, fun-focused retail. We are seeking energetic, responsible go-getters with innovative ideas, ready to actively participate in company initiatives.

We LOVE our interns Our internship is curated to deliver a rich learning experience for both personal and professional growth. Our program is hands on, participating in meaningful work that directly effects the company's success. You are an active contributor and valued as a part of your team

Location:

In conjunction with WoWToWN's current Ways of Working, we intend to offer a hybrid program for our interns, ensuring both a flexible and immersive experience. All applicants should plan to be in the Philadelphia area and access to our Home Office throughout the entirety of the program.

Internship Details:
  • 10 weeks: June 3rd – August 9th
  • Full time – 40 hours/wk
  • Paid – $17/hr
  • Greater Philadelphia location – on site/office requirements vary by internship position but should be generally considered hybrid. On average, an intern can expect to be in our home office 3 times per week.
  • Hands on, results driven projects. No coffee fetching here

Project Details:

The real estate intern will work closely with members of the real estate team as they evaluate and present sites for new stores. They will learn to use our internal demographic and tracking tools, observe active negotiations, attend site tours with local REMs and assist in creating presentation materials for our monthly real estate committee meeting. They will also work closely with members from the construction, design and legal departments, affording them the opportunity to learn the entire process from site selection through grand opening. During the second half of the program, the intern will select a site for a future Five Below location. Using their newly acquired skills, they will participate in a mock negotiation for that location, then prepare and present the site to the team for approval, simulating our REC process.

Requirements:
  • Must be actively enrolled as an incoming Junior – Senior in a relevant Bachelor's program (See Desired Skills).
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office products & remote meeting software
  • Must have availability for the full 10-week program as space is limited
  • Must be a self-starter, highly passionate & detail oriented
  • Active ability to problem solve & communicate effectively
  • Knowledge and passion for our brand is a plus

  • Area of Study: Real Estate, Finance with RE concentration, Business Admin with Real Estate concentration/minor or similar
  • Demographics, Market Research
  • GIS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Basic PowerPoint & Excel skills

  • Comfortable working with external partners
