Director of Project Management

As a Project Management Director, you will spearhead the development of Green Hydrogen projects in North America, overseeing their progression from feasibility to the commencement of construction. Your daily responsibilities will include managing assigned projects, providing leadership and supervision across various disciplines (including health, safety, and environmental compliance, permitting, procurement, construction management, and project control), overseeing contractor management, developing project scopes and contracts, selecting Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) contractors, and navigating the project through development stages towards Final Investment Decision (FID) while ensuring its overall viability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Green Hydrogen projects from initiation to Final Investment Decision and handover to the Execution team.
- Provide leadership across all project aspects, including engineering, health, safety, and environmental compliance, permitting, procurement, construction management, and contracting.
- Develop and manage all project aspects, including scope, execution plan, resourcing, budget, schedule, risks, quality, and interfaces.
- Utilize knowledge of Green Hydrogen (or related industries) to guide project development, maintain team focus, and keep executives informed.
- Establish effective project management processes, systems, and tools, and own the Project Management Plan.
- Engage internal and external teams and partners, aligning early and managing interfaces and risks proactively.
- Define resource needs, mobilize resources, and manage technical deliverables for various project phases.
- Collaborate with Development/Finance team to provide accurate technical, production, and costing inputs into project financial models.
- Lead procurement and contracting strategy definition, and manage procurement activities.
- Structure and budget project operation and maintenance, including staffing, vendor interfaces, agreements, KPIs, and pricing.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in engineering, execution, and Project Management developing large greenfield process plants (Hydrogen, Ammonia, Methanol, Refining).
- Experience across project lifecycle, from Front End Loading to Engineering Procurement Construction.
- Significant experience in cost/schedule control, budgeting, and procurement.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Primavera P6, and Procore.
- Professional Engineer license and PMP certification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to large audiences and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple ongoing activities, adapt to changing conditions, and develop alternative courses of action.
