Position Summary

Oceaneering International, Inc.'s Marine Systems Division in Chesapeake, VA is on the lookout for a capable Program Manager. This role involves ensuring successful project outcomes in terms of costs, schedule, and performance for submarine and other designated projects. The Program Manager oversees all contractual and financial aspects, allowing Project Managers to concentrate on daily production tasks. Ideal candidates possess a solid background in project management, financial and engineering management, personnel supervision, safety protocols, and profit/loss analysis. Effective communication and teamwork coordination within the Marine Services Division, the Programs Department, and cross-functionally with various departments are crucial given the diverse and intricate nature of the work.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Reports directly to the Director of Programs for Submarine Projects and other assigned projects.
  • Supervises Project Managers in leading and managing their projects according to Project Management Principles.
  • Maintains a profitable center supporting Oceaneering's departments and divisions.
  • Assists in devising and executing strategic and operational business objectives.
  • Fosters customer relationships through consistent communication, consulting with customers for project alignment, and upholding a positive brand image.
  • Collaborates with various departments on new quotations, contract deliveries, business development, and customer expansion initiatives.
  • Fosters a conducive work environment for employee growth, ensures compliance with all regulations, and provides mentorship and performance evaluations.
  • Formulates and enhances safety, quality, and production processes, identifying marketing opportunities, and reviewing cost estimates for different project requirements.
  • Track financial progress, coordinate corrective actions, and ensure timely submissions of financial information and contracts.
  • Supports business development efforts, assists in expanding the customer base, and provides necessary consultative support to managers and customers.
  • Develops problem-solving strategies, improves operational efficiencies, and makes strategic decisions within the department.
  • Regularly visits production sites and conducts quality and data analyses.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution or Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Ten years of project management experience in naval ship equipment maintenance, repair, testing, and improvement.
  • Proficiency in Project Management principles, PMP/PMP certification, MS Project, and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Knowledge of Government contracts, U.S. citizenship, and DoD security clearance.
