As our Custodial Shop Service Manager, you will supervise a team of Custodial Inspectors, manage cleaning schedules, coordinate efforts with other departments, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout all of UAF's Fairbanks serviced spaces.

To thrive as the Custodial Shop Service Manager at Facilities Services, you must have a unique blend of strong leadership skills, good judgement, and a strong commitment to cleanliness and safety. You will lead a team of custodial inspectors by setting clear performance expectations, conducting regular evaluations, and fostering a positive work environment.

Managing cleaning operations involves working with contractors to develop and maintain cleaning schedules and monitoring adherence to contract standards. Quality control is important, requiring regular facilities inspections, accurate record keeping, and the implementation of benchmarks to maintain consistently high cleanliness standards. The successful candidate will have the ability to reconcile custodial invoices and identify cost-saving opportunities. Communication and collaboration skills are vital for coordinating with other UAF departments, addressing stakeholder concerns, and maintaining open lines of communication.

You'll be required to maintain a flexible schedule tailored to meet the evolving demands of the campus.

Minimum Qualifications:


• Previous supervisory experience in custodial or facilities management.

• Strong leadership, team management and customer service skills.

• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

• Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance in custodial operations.

• Knowledge of custodial equipment, chemicals, and cleaning techniques.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Proficient with computer applications such as adobe, MS Word, MS Paint, Excel, Google documents, and shared calendar system.

• Proficiency with mobile applications and devices.

A valid driver's license and clean driving record in compliance with UA Safe Driving Criteria is required.

Preferred:


• Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration, or related field.

• Budget management and cost-control experience.

Position Details:

This position is located on the UAF campus in Fairbanks. This is a full-time, Exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 81, based on education and experience.
