Through education, mentorship, and access to leadership opportunities we aim to advance the impact of startups, social enterprises, and youth-centered initiatives.


THE POSITION

The Mentor Program Manager is responsible for managing and growing SOA's global network of mentors by developing one on one relationships with mentors, designing and implementing network engagement and communications strategies as well as recruiting and selecting new expert mentors to the network.

Additionally, this position will be in charge of creating programs that support the bridging of mentors with young leaders and entrepreneurs throughout SOA's global community on a continual basis in order to support the development of leadership, solutions and policies restoring the ocean.

This role is responsible for onboarding mentors, facilitating mentor training, and coordinating mentors' engagement across SOA programs in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

This is a full-time position that reports to the Head of Ecopreneur Network

RESPONSIBILITIES

Programming:


Collaborate with the Head of Ecopreneur and Head of Global Community to design and implement mentor-led programming for entrepreneurs and ocean leaders globally, including program iteration and growth, mentor engagement in events, and ensuring alignment with budget and outcomes.


Communication & Mentor Engagement:


Manage mentor-oriented communications, facilitate connections between mentors and the community, and support day-to-day operations of programming to ensure mentor engagement and support.


SOA Community Engagement & Matchmaking:


Develop processes for connecting mentors to mentees, manage introductions, solicit feedback from the community, and engage with various stakeholders to enhance the mentorship program.


Systems & Operations:


Oversee the internal Mentorship Database and external Global Mentor Network database in collaboration with the Program Manager to track relationships and engagement.


Mentor Selection & Onboarding:
Recruit expert mentors, manage recruitment strategies, and collaborate with the marketing team to amplify mentor recruitment efforts.

Other Projects:


Conduct outreach to target organizations, report evaluation findings, collaborate with the marketing team, attend industry events, and support fundraising efforts as needed.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in community management or engagement, and program development
Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment, and think creatively
Highly organized and detail-oriented self-starter with exceptional prioritization, organization, and time management skills
Experience in virtual and in-person program coordination
Strong planning and implementation skills
Experience as a mentor to entrepreneurs, young leaders, activists, environmentalists and ocean advocates across culturally diverse backgrounds.
