The Bookkeeper will work in conjunction with our leadership team and be supported by external accountants to oversee the Company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. The Bookkeeper performs daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments.

Duties & Responsibilities

Verify the accuracy of invoices, bills, and other accounting documents or records.

Maintain accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.

Pay bills, receive payments, make deposits and manage accounts payable and receivable.

Track company income and expenditures.

Payroll and benefits administration.

Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).

Compile data and prepare a variety of reports and budgets.

Prepare and file financial documents.

Study financial trends to determine future business needs.

Balances accounts by reconciling entries.

Maintain historical records by filing documents.

Assist with tax payments and filing returns.

Contribute to team effort by participating in meetings and special projects.

Recommend actions to resolve discrepancies.

Investigate questionable data.

Work with outside accountants as needed.

Ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements.

Experience

Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field.

Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting systems.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook), with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Paylocity.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Detail-oriented and able to prioritize.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Self-starter

Five years' experience working in accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll and payroll reports.
