Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior General Ledger Support to join our team at Bolling AFB Washington, D.C.
The Senior General Ledger Support will work with CFO compliance team, Operations and table maintenance to ensure that information being fed into subsidiary accounts is accurate, timely and correct in the General Ledger Accounts
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Analyze and interpret financial data to detect trends and identify needed corrective measures and processes to improve accuracy and utility of the General ledger and subsidiary accounts Experience
- Analyze program trends/anomalies in accounting system transactions to determine effect on General Ledger and subsidiary accounts
- Analyze and assess current and historical financial data for the purpose of developing special reports for use in improving the efficiency, accuracy and usefulness of Financial Statement(s)
- Determine if accounting transactions are consistent with prescribed coding and that transactions are processed in accordance with US Standard General ledger definitions
- Evaluate the current status of accounting or reporting systems in relations to the effect on General Ledger and subsidiary accounts
- Reconcile and evaluate the content, accuracy and timeliness of the General ledger and subsidiary accounts
- Prepare both internal and external financial statements and reports, in accordance with federal requirements and accounting standards, to accurately reflect the activities and operations of the program
Required Qualifications:
- 5 + years of related experience
- Experience in providing interpretations of accounting reports, statements and data which points out trends, estimates the effect of proposed changes in operating programs on income, expenditures, obligation and costs
- Experience reviewing and resolving accounting discrepancies and using accounting information to recommend solutions to management
- Knowledge of accounting theories, concepts, principles, and practices of accounting and financial management
- Knowledge of missions, functions, programs, goals, objectives, work processes, and sources of funding pertinent to accounting organization
- Knowledge of sources of factual information about and related to processes of accounting systems, such as that found in accounting reports, payroll, records, work reports, or inventory and supply data
- Skill in formulating, justifying, and/or reconciling assigned accounting systems projects/programs
- Ability to gather, assemble, and analyze data to reconcile timely and accurate accounting reporting, develop alternative, and make recommendations to resolve accounting problems
Desired Qualifications:
- Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, Initiative requiring minimal supervision
- Willingness to travel within the organizational geographic Area of Responsibility (AOR)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively Interact withnumerous DOD, military/civilian personnel and industry partners
- Demonstrates problem solving, conflict management, and team building skills In order to ensure a productive work environment and achievement of goals
Education Requirements:
- 4 year degree in Accounting or Related Field (6 Additional Years of Experience in Lieu of a Degree)
Clearance Requirements:
- Active Secret Clearance Required to Start
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
