Job Summary and Qualifications

The Behavioral Health Specialist identifies, triages, assesses, and manages adult and children/adolescent patients in behavioral, mental health, and addiction crisis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Current Nevada license to practice as a Psychologist or LCSW or licensure in a related specialty.

EDUCATION:

  • Master's degree in social work or related program or
  • Ph.D. in psychology
  • Psy.D in psychology
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW - Nevada) or Psychologist

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Basic computer and hospital informatics skills required.
  • CPR required
  • Complies with hospital employee health, infection control and safety management programs
  • CPI or non-violent crisis prevention equivalent certification
  • Certification in related specialty

EXPERIENCE:

  • Acute adult and/or child/adolescent behavioral and mental health crisis triaging and assessment experience required.
  • Nevada involuntary psychiatric/mental health hold (Legal 2000 R) certification and decertification experience preferred.
  • Mental Health court process and documentation experience preferred

LICENSURE:

  • Current state license as a licensed clinical social worker or licensed psychologist
  • Independently maintains license
  • Acquires required contact hours to maintain practice

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
