Summary: Transfr, a leader in the virtual reality educational and training software industry, is currently seeking a full-time VR Support Engineer who can help scale the production of job simulations built with the Transfr SDK by strengthening the bridge between the teams using and building the SDK.

This role requires someone with strong experience in Unity and XR development. The ideal candidate will quickly learn the Transfr SDK and become an expert in using the SDK to create VR job simulations such that they can support multiple teams creating simulations simultaneously. They will work closely with the teams they support to successfully create simulations and to understand the pain points with the SDK, and then work with the SDK engineers to address those pain points. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a highly collaborative environment, helping other designers and developers, and building a strong ecosystem of educational content creation.

**This role can be fully remote or work on a hybrid schedule with our team based in NYC. To qualify, applicants must be able to work without restriction within the United States or Canada.**

Responsibilities:

  • Become an expert on our tools and processes used to design, develop, and deploy high quality VR job simulations
  • Provide technical support for multiple simulation development teams by aiding them with their usage of the Transfr SDK and troubleshooting bugs
  • Identify bugs in the Transfr SDK and make clear distinctions between bugs and improper SDK usage
  • Identify potential improvements in our tools and processes for simulation development
  • Improve our documentation and onboarding materials that make it easy and intuitive to learn our tools and processes for simulation development
  • Stay in touch with the evolving XR standards and best practices

Required Qualifications:

  • Expertise building commercial software using Unity.
  • XR/VR game development or immersive development experience.
  • Strong portfolio showing examples of polished XR/VR projects.
  • C# debugging and development skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to thrive working independently in a remote team environment.
  • Experience with Git or Perforce in the context of game development
  • Ability to find creative solutions to difficult problems while adhering to mature software development practices.
  • Proactive attitude in assisting others to enhance work efficiency and speed.
  • Strong attention to detail

Nice to have:

  • Experience working with remote studios and external vendors
  • Experience with Agile, Jira and Confluence
  • Mobile development/Android Experience
  • Experience working with XR interaction frameworks
  • Solid understanding of 3D math and physics for game engines

What We Offer:

The base salary range for this position is expected to be between $95K - $125K , with the base salary amount dependent on a number of factors, including but not limited to a candidate's credentials, relevant experience, and primary job location. In addition to salary this role will be eligible for additional company benefits such as stock options, 401(k), paid vacation and sick time, and medical/dental/vision insurance.
