Job Description

Key responsibilities for the EHS Specialist 2:

Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventative measures.Provide EHS training and education to employees to promote a safe and healthy work environment.Maintain and update EHS documentation, including policies, procedures, and safety data sheets.Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct drills to prepare for potential emergencies.Monitor and evaluate workplace conditions, including air quality, noise levels, and ergonomic factors.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into project planning and decision-making processes.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. Successful candidate for the EHS Specialist 2 role:

Experience: They have at least 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.Strong Analytical Skills: They demonstrate excellent analytical abilities to assess hazards, conduct risk assessments, and develop effective mitigation strategies.Effective Communicator: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for training employees and collaborating with various departments.Proactive Problem-Solver: The candidate shows a proactive approach to identifying potential safety issues and implementing solutions promptly.Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using EHS management software and tools is crucial for managing documentation and compliance.
