Rendering Supervisor

About the Position:

The role of Rendering Supervisor involves overseeing the production operations on a designated shift, ensuring that production targets are met according to set standards of quality, efficiency, and cost.

The position primarily focuses on managing semi-skilled tasks, quality control, and problem-solving.

It requires a high level of technical expertise to assist operators in resolving issues, making critical judgments, and supervising the production processes.

Responsibilities

Employee Safety:
  • Implement and oversee safety and ergonomic programs to maintain a secure work environment.
  • Conduct daily visual inspections to identify and address any unsafe practices or conditions promptly.
  • Train employees on safe operating procedures, including lockout/tagout protocols.
Product Quality/Food Safety:
  • Ensure consistent product quality and adherence to food safety standards.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of products and equipment to effectively guide employees in their roles.
  • Monitor operations daily to uphold HACCP and USDA standards, taking corrective action as needed.
Employee Relations:
  • Provide guidance to Crew Leaders and hourly staff fostering positive employee relations.
  • Conduct regular line meetings to address queries and resolve concerns.
Meeting Yields and Efficiencies Targets:
  • Collaborate with Operations Managers and supervisors weekly to understand performance metrics, identify challenges, and implement improvements.
  • Communicate daily with employees regarding work tasks and expectations.
Enhancing Product Costs:
  • Conduct daily quality checks to uphold standards.
  • Minimize downtime, examine key performance indicators for enhancement opportunities.
Job Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in any field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in SAP, KRONOS, and other essential software tools.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, including a good grasp of mathematical concepts for calculations and analysis.
  • Familiarity with Internet, Word, Excel, and other productivity software.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, preferably with experience in food processing/manufacturing.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Dependable, responsive to instructions, and able to take direction from management.
