Summary

This position is located in the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of Audits, Evaluations, and Cyber (AEC) located in Arlington, VA. The position serves as a subject matter (SME) and technical expert for conducting high-quality audits, evaluations, and reviews on FDIC programs and operations.

Duties

As a Senior Auditor (Senior IT Audit Specialist) you will:

  • Serve as a subject matter (SME) and technical expert for conducting high-quality audits, evaluations, and reviews on FDIC programs and operations.
  • Develop new approaches and innovative audit, evaluation, and review techniques to evaluate FDIC programs and operations.
  • Identify audits, evaluations and reviews that address risk and stakeholders concerns including those of OIG executives, FDIC officials, and the Congress.
  • Exercise technical direction over the collection and analysis of data; and ensure that evidence collected is sufficient, competent, and relevant to support conclusions reached in audit reports; and properly documented and reviewed in the audit working papers.
  • Provide technical guidance and expert advice to other team members on the interpretation of federal IT auditing and evaluation principles, concepts, and practices; the application of auditing standards as prescribed by the Government Accountability Office (GAO); and the application of evaluations standards as prescribed by Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE).
  • Provide effective team leadership including: (1) proactively identify and resolve problems that could impact organizations goals; (2) establish priorities and adjust schedules to accomplish the work as timely as possible; and (3) effectively utilize resources.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to team members, as well as, the manager on performance and provide informal mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
  • Prepare, analyze, and verify reports and monitor information systems that furnish this information to FDIC.
  • Draft reports that consolidate and integrate the work of others.
  • Perform quality control reviews of project documentation, summaries, notifications of findings and recommendations, and draft audit reports.
  • Assist in developing the message and drafting significant portions of other products, such as briefings, meetings, reports, testimonies, and fact sheets; and ensure all products are clear, convincing, accurate, and thorough.
