We currently have an excellent employment opportunity for a loan officer trainee/loan officer in our Mechanicsville office primarily covering the Virginia counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Fluvanna, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Louisa, and Powhatan.\r

\tThe position will:
\r

\r
\t

  • serve present and prospective member customers with sound short-term, intermediate-term, and long-term loans according to Association and district policies, standards, and procedures\r
\r
\t

  • formulate business development strategies that target potential Farm Credit member customers, as well as referrals from builders, realtors, and other sources\r
\r
\t

  • service all assigned existing loans within delegated authorities\r
\r
\t

  • represent the Association at local events and meetings\r
\r
\t

  • promote related services to all current and prospective member customers\r
\r
\t \r
\r
\tEducation, Experience, and Requirements (things you need to be successful)\r
\r
\t1. Bachelor's degree in an agricultural field (agricultural economics preferred), finance, or economics\r
\r
\t2. Residence in territory served by the Mechanicsville office or contiguous counties\r
\r
\t3. Familiarity of the service area\r
\r
\t4. Agricultural background preferred and beneficial to applicant if selected as candidate of choice\r
\r
\t5. Strong interpersonal, sales, negotiating, and problem solving skills\r
\r
\t6. Strong analytical, judgment, and communication (oral and written) skills\r
\r
\t7. Awareness of current economic developments and production technology affecting agriculture in the region\r
\r
\t8. Computer experience with intermediate skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel\r
\r
\t9. Attend networking opportunities and community events in order to build influencer relationships and foster business development\r
\r

Other:
Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to stand for limited periods of time. Ability to walk for moderate distances. Frequent finger/hand manipulation (e.g. keyboard, office equipment, small hand tools, etc.). Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling while exerting up to 50 pounds of force. Regular attendance is required in this job.\r
