Duties

Adhere to formal internal and external procedures and complex administrative controls. Oversee a variety of policy and program staff actions that are characterized by unique requirements that demand continuous oversight to provide administrative direction and coordination for all actions and correspondence. Develop and recommend changes to existing administrative policies and procedures to improve staff operations. Prepare detailed, written reports to higher headquarters concerning the status of actions, utilizing the data base to retrieve requested data. Develop/maintain close association/sound working relationships with higher headquarters, Army Staff Agencies, Major Army Commands, Congressional Liaison, White House Liaison, Secretariat, as well as agencies outside the Department of Defense (DoD). Provide training and instruction for new personnel concerning internal staff action standard operating procedures and terminology, as well as preparation, content and assembly of staff actions.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. A one-year probationary period may be required. TDY travel may be required up to 5% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of experience which includes: 1) Leading the control and coordination of taskers that cross multiple command organizations and partner organizations; 2) Managing priorities and collaboration through expert knowledge of automated systems used for staff actions; 3) Managing information to include recommendations to senior leaders on staff actions and policies and procedures; and 4) Developing internal operating guidance detailing procedures for tasker completion, prioritization and timely action.
