Position Overview

QinetiQ US is seeking a skilled Locksmith and Assistant Physical Security Specialist to contribute to our mission. The selected individual will be responsible for the following:

Key Responsibilities as a Locksmith

  • Drilling of GSA safe containers, vaults, and STC doors, including necessary repairs and inspections for GSA compliance.
  • Installation and maintenance of electronic and mechanical GSA-rated locking hardware and devices.
  • Performing combination changes and new lock installations.
  • Conducting risk assessments and providing security recommendations.
  • Assembling and disassembling various types of locks.
  • Repairing and replacing door hardware and electronic locking mechanisms.
  • Managing key control systems and ensuring integrity.
  • Executing key cutting and lock cylinder maintenance.
  • Utilizing lock manipulation techniques when necessary.
  • Installing and servicing keyless entry systems.

Responsibilities as an Alternate Physical Security Specialist

  • Collaborating with leadership to establish a physical security and key control program.
  • Overseeing the physical security of properties and ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines.
  • Developing and updating policies related to physical security and key control.
  • Coordinating with facility administrators to respond to security alarms.
  • Conducting annual risk analyses and vulnerability assessments.
  • Maintaining records of locks and keys using computerized systems.
  • Managing keyless control programs and installations.
  • Ensuring that security measures are adequate based on threat assessments.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret Clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Virginia Locksmith Certification.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong focus on customer service.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Physical capability to perform job duties, including lifting and moving heavy objects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Experience in physical security with specialized locksmith tools and software.
