St. John's School is seeking a full-time Upper School Counselor (grades The Upper School Counselor will partner with the existing Upper School Counselor to help provide short-term counseling, consultation, crisis management, ongoing support, and referrals to community and mental health resources. As part of the direct support to students, the Upper School Counselor must be familiar with psychoeducational testing and be able to support the variety of learning styles and differences of all students. In addition to direct support services, the Upper School Counselor, while collaborating with the other school counselors, will be actively involved in the design and implementation of the school wellness program including SEL activities for advisory, parent seminars, teacher training, and K-12 student initiatives.

In addition to relevant experience and a strong educational background, successful candidates must demonstrate a passion for working with high school-age students, an engaging communication style, and a commitment to developing the whole child and furthering the School's mission, including its strategic initiatives on community and inclusion. St. John's seeks educators who are innovative and reflective, open to feedback, and eager for professional collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred
  • Candidates must possess a professional certification in counseling
  • Minimum of 3 years of counseling experience in an Upper School program
