The duties of an Associate Professor of Law include research, teaching, and service.
Specific duties include:
· Write scholarship that is placed in leading academic journals or books published by leading presses;
· Teach classes at Notre Dame Law School, and in other academic units at the University of Notre Dame;
· Mentor students and encourage their learning about the law and preparation for legal careers;
· Contribute in workshops and conversations to the development of legal scholarship by other members of the Notre Dame Law School faculty;
· Serve the Notre Dame Law School and the broader university by participating in committees and other instruments of governance;
· Serve the broader legal academic community, both national and international, such by providing reviews of potential publications in academic journals and providing assessments in tenure cases; and
· Contribute to national and international discussion of legal issues in order to promote justice and advance the public good.
Qualifications
Candidates for Associate Professor of Law should have attained a J.D., Ph.D., or other advanced degree related to the area of the candidate's scholarly work.
