Job Opportunity

Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame, IN is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a tenure-track faculty position in Speech-Language Pathology.

Position Overview

This is a full-time, 9-month position with a focus on teaching, research, and service. The successful candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • Early Childhood Language Disorders
  • Later Childhood Language Disorders
  • Neurology
  • Counseling
  • Fluency
  • Research Methods
Responsibilities

The Assistant Professor in Speech-Language Pathology will be responsible for:

  • Teaching 6 courses at the undergraduate and master's level
  • Pursuing research and scholarship in their area of expertise
  • Providing service to the department, college, and community
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology
  • An ABD from an accredited institution in Speech-Language Pathology, with completion of the degree within 1 year from the start date
  • A strong record or potential for effective teaching
  • A commitment to culturally responsive practices in diverse and inclusive contexts and communities
Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Certified Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association
  • Licensed or eligible to be licensed as a speech-language pathologist in the State of Indiana
  • Experience supervising students in clinical education activities, either in the academic or clinical environment
