As an experienced Project Engineer, you will provide specialized engineering support for analyzing, designing, and fabricating technical projects by interpreting complex customer specifications, managing technical calculations and documentation, and adhering to quality standards. You will lead project engineering activities, including planning, directing, reporting, fabricating, assembling, and testing. Serving as the primary Technical Point of Contact, you will collaborate with Project Managers and customers, offer guidance and mentorship to Design Engineers, Drafters, SMEs, and Design Interfaces, and handle novel Design Build or customer-provided Build-to-Print designs based on experience.

To be successful, you should bring with you:

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with 7-15+ years of experience OR Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution with 5-10 years of experience.Expertise in machine design or stainless-steel sheet metal design.Solid computer knowledge and familiarity with standard workstation office software (MS Office) and SolidWorks, PRO/E, AutoCAD, or other drafting/modeling software. SolidWorks is strongly preferred.Experience with Manufacturing ERP systems such as Global Shop Solutions (GSS) is desiredA comprehensive understanding of core mechanical engineering principles is necessary.A solid background in manufacturing, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA) are desired.Preference will be given to candidates with familiarity or experience with Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA-1) standards.Prior experience with the Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Defense (DOD), or other government-based projects is highly advantageous.A Professional Engineer (PE) License is desirable.Your responsibilities as the Project Engineer:

Design Build Projects

Develop novel concept designs and preliminary Work Breakdown for engineering efforts during proposal stages.Consolidate project-based Design Inputs, Interfaces, and Quality Program Requirements into an Engineering Design Plan upon project award.Conduct Engineering Kick-Off meetings to establish project tasks and resources, coordinating with stakeholders.Manage Design Basis and coordinate engineering disciplines and interfaces project-by-project.Conduct design reviews, ensure technical scope implementation, and oversee technical lead responsibilities in customer-facing meetings.Handle Design Change Notices, Non-Conformance Reports, and Supplier Deviation Requests, managing technical scope changes under the NQA-1 quality program.Assist design teams with CAD work, administration, and mentorship of junior engineers and drafters.Build To Print ProjectsReview customer-provided designs and project requirements for manufacturability feasibility during proposal stages.Collect project-based Engineering Requirements, Subcontractors, Manufacturing Requirements, and Quality Program Requirements post-project award.Conduct Engineering Kick-Off meetings, similar to Design Build projects.QualityDevelop project-related conformance documentation and detailed technical submittal documents.Assist in writing deviation requests and non-conformance reports.Project EngineeringEnsure products conform to customer requirements and manage Engineering activities related to projects.Plan/oversee factory and site acceptance testing and specify and quote complex procurement items.Support production staff during fabrication schedules.OtherAssists in engineering overhead activities – CAD administration, engineering procedure development, etc.Best-in-Class Benefits and Perks:
