Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities

  • Manage the design process including verification, qualification, and characterization of prototypes.
  • Document the design process, including design reviews, technical documentation, and reporting.
  • Work with the manufacturing organization to launch and support production.
  • Conduct research and development for new and existing technology.
  • Critically think and solve engineering problems related to design, manufacturing and test results
  • Develop component and assembly concepts as well as small tools and fixtures for test and manufacturing.
  • Develop according to customer specifications.
  • Provide manufacturing support during production and continuous improvement projects.

Mechanical Engineer Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass ATF clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred Masters) in Mechanical Engineering and/or five years of equivalent experience
  • preferred background in Battery Engineering
  • Must be a hands-on engineering problem solver.
  • Computer Literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Must be team oriented, self-motivated, able to multi-task.
  • Preferred experience with ASME Y14.5 and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and a working knowledge of mechanical and CNC machining
