Technical Product Manager

As we expand our footprint, we need a Product Manager to work with existing users and subject matter experts (SMEs) from various alternative investment platforms to translate their user stories for the engineering team. Familiarity with consumer-facing web and mobile applications is desirable, with a preference for financial or transactional applications and their unique challenges (accuracy and transparency of information, handling complex exception cases, dealing with client funds and assets, etc.). Testing completed stories to ensure they meet acceptance criteria is an important part of the role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be the product owner of full-stack initiatives.
  • Lead the ideation, technical development, launch, and testing of features that drive an engaging customer experience while achieving measurable business impact on lifetime value, conversion, margin, and retention.
  • Size opportunities and work with the technical team to assess costs, then lead the prioritization of projects accordingly.
  • Work with business users and SMEs for product to capture their requirements in epics and user stories.
  • Drive product execution with a team of engineers, technical lead, and business users ensuring we rely on data to inform testing, launching, and iterating on our work.
  • Define, analyze, and report on metrics that inform the success of features.
  • Act as the liaison between the business units / support teams and the software development teams.
  • Actively participate in IT design reviews to ensure compatibility and interoperability of systems.
  • Test recently implemented stories to ensure they meet acceptance criteria.
  • Maintain expert level knowledge of the software and how it is used by end users

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven time management, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Great analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience as a Scrum Master or experience working in an agile environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience as a product manager / product owner in a software business.
  • A bachelor's degree in management information systems or a related area of study; or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with the development of web-based and mobile applications, including a high-level understanding of React, C#, Web API and REST, and RDBMS (SQL Server).
  • Familiarity with automated test tools and manual tools, including Swagger or Postman, and with issue tracking software like Jira or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience working with offshore development teams
