Duties

This positions allows you to use your knowledge and expertise writing and editing internal documents, speeches, operational correspondence and official statements issued by U.S. Border Patrol. This position starts at a salary of $88, GS-12, Step 1) to $115, GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $$115, GS-12 Step 10).

As a Writer-Editor, your duties and responsibilities include:

  • Writing, editing, and composing documents including, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), speeches, operational documents, official correspondence and statements on USBP activities.
  • Providing communications support via writing and editing expertise to the command group and staff organizations for special projects and assignments on a wide variety of issues with audiences throughout CBP, USBP or other governmental leaders.
  • Adjusting a document's tone and style for audience suitability.
  • Writing, gathering, developing and checking the accuracy of information by research and by interviews with subject-matter specialist, program officials and policy makers.
