Summary of Position

Lionsgate Canada's Finance department is looking for a Financial Analyst to join the team. Reporting directly to the Manager, FP&A, and working closely with the Sr. Director, FP&A, the Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in the budgeting and forecasting cycle by preparing variance reporting, and analysis within the TV Group. This role plays an important part in the preparation of reports, analysis of information, and the communication of results effectively, to enhance and enable decision-making by senior management.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of the financial budget and quarterly forecast model for the TV Group, which includes income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, and other selected financial schedules
  • Prepare, compile, and analyze account balances and management reports, compared with budget, forecast, and/or prior year
  • Assist with budget/forecast system testing and budget/forecast loading
  • Prepare and assist with monthly management reporting pack(s)
  • Prepare the delivery, locked, and air dates schedule
  • Assist with budget & forecast presentation packs
  • Assist with month-end reports for senior management
  • Assist with input of actuals across the income statement, balance sheet & cash flow, including reconciliation of data between company ERP system (Longview) and reporting systems (PowerBI)
  • Maintain and update development spend report, by title
  • Manage title card database
  • Provide ad hoc analytical, project and other support as required
Qualifications and Skills
  • Qualified/QBE Accountant
  • Previous experience in an FP&A role with multiple stakeholders
  • 3-5 years' experience in media
  • Expert knowledge of MS excel and strong modelling skills – absolute must
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to think outside the box
  • Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a time sensitive manner
  • Proven work ethic with utmost integrity
  • Effective communication skills at all levels of the organisation
  • Positive attitude, approachable and self-motivated
  • Excellent team player with ability to work independently
