Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the President or designee, the Vice President – Operations / Information Technology is responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership and oversight for the Information Technology and Operations (Facilities, Public Safety & Capital Projects) of the College.

Duties & Responsibilities:


1. Provide oversight and direction for the planning, organization and leadership of the College's Custodial Services & Campus Events, Facilities Operations, Information Technology, Public Safety, Media Production & Technology, Print Shop, and Shipping & Receiving operational units.
2. Project manager for capital projects and construction; planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely manner and within budget. Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expectations. Provide project updates to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments and progress.
3. Establish goals, objectives, policies, procedures and action plans that are consistent with the College's strategic plan. Ensure that oversight units have updated and documented policies and procedures, are supported technologically, and operated in compliance with college, agency, and legal mandates.
4. Design and oversee a comprehensive procurement plan for the efficient delivery of goods and services, in compliance with college and statutory mandates. Ensure that payables comply with due dates.
5. Provide oversight and guidance for campus infrastructure operations and maintenance, the physical plant operations, capital planning, construction, building renovation, and equipment maintenance/replacement in accordance with the College's strategic, facilities and academic master plans.
6. Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of an information technology (IT) strategy that meets the needs of constituents of the College. Ensure that business needs are met, including the delivery of optimal return on technology investments and utmost maintenance of cyber-security protocols.
7. Provide oversight and guidance for campus security and public safety.
8. Oversee and lead the budgeting and planning process for the assigned operational units. Establish guidelines and procedures for the management of operating budgets.
9. Develop, strengthen, implement and articulate effective, strategic operational plans and systems in order to further the College's mission. Work closely and transparently with external partners including third-party vendors in accordance with legislative, college, and other guidelines.
10. Ensure compliance with Board of Trustees' policies; college, county, state and federal regulations; and other statutory requirements.
11. Handle and/or manage sensitive information and adhere to strict confidentiality at all times. 12. Maintain strict confidentiality and security of staff, students, and client records.
13. Prepare routine, special, and ancillary reports as required.
14. Perform other related duties as required.

Minimum Experience:

1. Master's degree in related field.
2. Seven or more years progressive leadership experience in information technology operations and services at the senior management level, preferably in higher education.
3. Five or more years progressive leadership experience in administrative operations and services at the senior management level, preferably in higher education.
4. Demonstrable evidence of success in the oversight and leadership of multiple complex administrative units with the proven ability to affect and influence change through a collaborative and inclusive approach, preferably in higher education at the community college level.
5. Substantive evidence of success in business planning and process re-engineering with the utilization of systems and technologies that increased an entity's efficiency and effectiveness.
6. Comprehensive knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment of public higher education.
7. Proven ability to provide vision and leadership in matters pertaining to administrative operations, and effectively represent an educational institution with external constituents.
8. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and interpersonal skills .
9. Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
10. Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Minimum Education Requirements: Master's Degree

Preferred Experience:

1. Doctorate degree in Business Administration, Management Information System, or other related areas.
2. Experience in a collective bargaining negotiation.
3. Experience in Capital Project Management
