The Ads Signal team builds ML signals to improve advertising performance and solve various business problems. The team is responsible for developing and innovating ML signals, integrating them into production models, and building tooling to improve the signal development lifecycle. The team you will lead works to identify, design, and implement signals that broadly improve the ads delivery funnel or power products that reduce friction for Pinners/advertisers. In short, this is a unique position, where you'll get the freedom to chart your own journey and where you'll get the opportunity to dive deep into many areas of ads.
What you'll do:
- Manage and grow the engineering team, providing technical vision and long-term roadmap.
- Understand customer problems and signal gaps in our system, leading the team to build signals and tailor their solutions for the application use cases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional application teams, enabling the team to do cross-functional work, not limited to signal development but also in signal application areas such as ads ranking/retrieval or marketplace.
- Mentor and grow ML engineers to allow them to become experts in signal development and ads delivery funnel.
What we're looking for:
- MS or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
- 6+ years of industry experience with a related background in Recommender Systems, Monetization, and Ads Delivery funnel (Ads Ranking and/or Ads Retrieval) domains.
- 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
- Strong software engineering and mathematical skills with knowledge of machine learning.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale online recommendation/ads systems is a plus.
