Learning Specialist

Connelly School of the Holy Child is a Catholic, college preparatory school, committed to the intellectual, spiritual, artistic, physical, and social development of young women in grades 6 through 12. The school emphasizes academic challenge, joy of learning, and education of well-rounded women of faith and action.

Responsibilities include:

• Teach study skills classes, to ensure students understand which skills work best for their style of learning
• Assist students with executive functioning and organization
• Remain in close contact with parents and teachers
• Ensure students are receiving the appropriate classroom accommodations
• Review grades and progress reports
• Develop intervention plans with students, parents, and teachers when necessary
• Monitor homework club at least one afternoon a week
• Identify and address student academic concerns through positive problem-solving strategies
• Support faculty and staff concerning academic concerns of their students
• Communicate necessary information with parents about their student when appropriate
  • Bachelor's Degree in special education or related field

  • Experience using a variety of pedagogical strategies
