The University of Miami is looking for a Senior Manager, Research Support (N) to join the team at Soffer Clinical Research Center in Miami. This role involves leading research program teams to ensure successful system implementation and upgrades. The Senior Manager oversees daily operations, resources, and supports the growth and development of research staff and programs.

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Holds meetings with research staff to coordinate functions effectively.
  • Provides technical support and resolves operational issues.
  • Manages department budget and identifies opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Assists in manuscript preparation and publication.
  • Recruits, trains, and evaluates research staff.
  • Analyzes reports and data for new topic modules. Develops indicators for a data visualization platform.
  • Establishes and evaluates internal controls and ensures compliance with University policies.

Department Specific Functions

This role involves assisting staff with training and development.

  • Identifies and solves problems, recommends solutions for financial and administrative issues.
  • Develops training plans on awards management processes.
  • Supports staff management and workload review.
  • Manages grant portfolios for assigned PI's.
  • Other duties as assigned.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field

Experience:

At least 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:

  • Understanding of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, and evaluate department operations.
  • Effective planning, delegation, and supervision skills.
  • Leadership, motivation, and training abilities.
