Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Full-Time position in Miami, Florida

Job Functions:
- Conduct teaching and supervision of OMFS residents, offering patient care, surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, and care for hospitalized patients
- Support UHealth's mission in providing medical education, research, and quality patient care
- Engage in various healthcare industry activities at international, national, regional, and local levels affecting the future role of Surgical Areas funding
- Participate in Oral Surgery Service and residency training at the VAMC
- Participate in key Department of Surgery activities as agreed with the Division Chief
- Provide clinical care in all aspects of oral maxillofacial surgery and collaborate with other physicians in the division
- Supervise residents at the University of Miami/Jackson Health System and the Miami Veteran's Administration Hospital, including teaching students in elective programs
- Develop protocols to fund experiments under own supervision
- Document all services in patient medical records
- Adhere to Departmental Policy & Procedures and Hospital Bylaws
- Exercise final medical judgment in all healthcare matters
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completed a CODA-accredited advanced education program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, board-certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS) or eligible for Board certification
- Experience in broad scope oral and maxillofacial surgery
- Oral and Maxillofacial Oncologic Surgery and Microvascular reconstructive fellowship
- MD and DDS or DMD, licensed to practice dentistry and medicine in a state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States
- U.S. citizens or permanent residents
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, initiative, positive attitude, flexibility, commitment to the department's mission, and high ethical and professional standards
