Licensed Practical Nurse Specialty Care possesses the knowledge and skills to appropriately carry out assigned patient care based on the patient's condition.
To use judgment in selecting the appropriate order/sequence of procedures and treatments, and to accurately recognize, report and record relevant patient information.
Duties listed below but not limited to:
Responsible and accountable for the provision of direct patient care and for the delivery of quality nursing care to a culturally diverse veteran patient population.
Possesses the knowledge and skills to effectively apply all aspects of the nursing process within a collaborative, interdisciplinary practice setting, which will then enable effective implementation of health promotion and prevention practices, management of acute and chronic illnesses, and attainment of optimal levels of functioning and/or support of the dying Patient and significant others.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of patients served in the assigned area of practice.
Responsible and accountable for scheduling and maintaining BLS training.Performs procedures, collections, treatments, and assistance while monitoring and observing the Patient, under the supervision of an RN and/or Provider.
Provides patient care in compliance with policy, procedure, and standards set forth by the Medical Center.Demonstrates understanding of age and population-specific characteristics that affect the health care needs of the Veteran.
