SUMMARY

Perry Ellis International is interested in hiring a Senior Staff Accountant to join their Accounting team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, advanced MS Excel, and strong communication skills. The Senior Staff Accountant will be working on Retail and Ecommerce Direct to Consumer Sales Audit, Inventory, Reconciliations, and Month-end Closing. Would prefer someone with exposure to software's such as: Oracle, NetSuite, Smart View, Shopify, and Adyen. Ability to work additional hours on Month end Closing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
⦁ Assist in month-end close activities
⦁ Prepares and inputs monthly journal and adjusting entries
⦁ Reconcile Balance Sheet and Income statement accounts
⦁ Participate in Physical and WH Inventory review
⦁ Ensures the timely processing of accounting transactions in accordance with established guidelines and internal controls
⦁ Assist with Invoices matching and codification
⦁ Assist with special projects/studies & prepare analysis as needed
⦁ Participates in year-end and interim audits

SKILLS
⦁ Organizational and analytical skills to prepare journals and financial reports
⦁ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
⦁ Knowledge of Accounting Principles, GAAP and research skills
⦁ Analytical and problem solving skills
⦁ Ability to multi-task and meet assigned deadlines
⦁ Excellent written and oral communication skills

REQUIREMENTS
⦁ Bachelor's Degree preferred: Accounting or minimum 5 years of similar work experience.
⦁ Advanced in Advanced Microsoft Excel especially with pivot tables, v-look ups, and other formulas.
⦁ Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
