Seeking a detail-oriented, self-driven, organized professional for our Mahle Production System (MPS) Co-Op/Intern position. The successful candidate will help drive MPS principles throughout the facility to ensure consistency, predictability, accuracy and repeatability in our processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· MPS Visualization - Coordinate the visualization activities for direct and indirect areas using MPS standard/ MAHLE Brandhub. Visualization includes plant board, fractal boards, Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) boards, Shop Floor Management (SFM) charts, machine indicator boards, area signs, workplace/ station signs, identification of material rack, product display, MAHLE promotional posters and other similar kind of visualization across the shop floor. Clear visualization of all parts with RED/GREEN. Support Production with floor marking (Footprints) as per the defined micro-layout.
· CIP – Work with MPS Engineers to coordinate Weekly CIP meetings and support Production to maintain the CIP documentation as per MPS. Participate in continuous improvement activities like Kaizen workshops and Problem solving thru A3 PPS.
· Conduct systematic waste analysis of bottleneck processes and support to eliminate/ reduce the wastes. Maintain the display of waste improvements in respective areas.
· Carry out cycle time study (Stopwatch) to prepare the Cycle time Diagram (CTD) of all lines and develop future state using P4P (Potential for productivity) principle.
· Value Stream Diagram (VSD) & Layout - Apply MPS methods/ Lean manufacturing principles to coordinate and develop Value stream mapping in Production areas (HVAC, PTC and Injection Molding) to optimize the Lead time and analyze the waste to develop the future state. Support Layout activities using VSD outcome.
· Material analysis using updating all PFEP with current situation and analyzing to reduce/ eliminate the line side material storage working with Logistics. All parts should be supplied to the point of use. Work towards small packaging-high frequency methodology. Maintain clear visualization of all parts as per MPS standard with the support of Production supervisors.
· Participate in Tugger optimization projects using AGVs and combining the work with Line stocker.
· Support daily production activities and MPS Engineers as necessary.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Currently enrolled in Industrial Engineering or similar bachelor's program.
· Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques preferred, including 5S, Kaizen, Value stream analysis, quality systems, total productive maintenance (TPM) and Optimum material flow with part handling.
· Proficiency in MS office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Project, etc.).
· Ability to write reports, business correspondence and work instructions.
· AutoCAD and SAP experience preferred.
· Six Sigma / Problem solving knowledge preferred.
