Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is looking to hire a Property Claims Associate (Entry Level) to conduct office investigations and adjusting property claims. We are looking to fill this position in our offices in Wilkes- Barre PA, or Parsippany, NJ .

Training & Courses: The following will be provided by the company.

  • Classroom and hands on training. You will be cross trained in different work-flows for the ability to grow within the department
  • Must be willing to complete a adjuster license course

Responsibilities

The Property Claims Associate is also responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Investigating losses and determining coverage while providing superior customer service
  • Obtaining and reviewing evidence, reports, and records
  • Establishing damages and reserves
  • Processing payments
  • Taking statements from insureds and witnesses
  • Evaluating policies and contract language to identify coverage issues
  • Drafting no coverage letters
  • Participating in Catastrophic claim handling protocols
Qualifications

We are seeking for candidates with the following:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and computer skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize
  • The ability to make decisions independently and to multitask
  • Previous experience adjusting property claims is preferred, but not required
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred but not required
  • Able to successfully pass Texas Adjuster licensing exam upon hire and to obtain and maintain any other adjuster licenses as required
