The Opportunity

This position works out of our Temecula, CA location in the Abbott Vascular division. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for the treatment of vascular disease.

Responsible for activities related to the control and monitoring of hazardous waste and facilities chemical usage, including pick-up, packing, and storage.

Additionally, is responsible for the maintenance of related records and for contacting vendors for removal of waste from site in accordance with all internal and external compliance regulations.

Ensures that the company meets, and complies, with all applicable chemical regulations at the Federal, State, and local levels.

What You'll Work On
collects expired or used chemicals and delivers to the appropriate area for storage and disposal.

  • Maintains appropriate documentation recording quantities, chemical composition, and date accumulated of hazardous
materials and chemicals, and ensures that accurate information and labels are recorded in order to meet compliance with
regulatory requirements.

  • Contacts Hazardous Waste Disposal vendors to arrange for removal of chemical waste from company site, supervises them
while on site, and participates in audits of vendors' chemical and solid waste recovery systems to assess the efficiency and
cost effectiveness of their operations, their compliance with regulations, and to evaluate for potential business contracts
with company.

  • May be required to coordinate and deliver training on hazardous materials and chemicals handling, and process training
records as appropriate.

  • Supplies information regarding hazardous materials and chemicals to management and other employees as requested.
  • Inspects site facilities to identify potential chemical hazards and conducts regular audits of hazardous materials and
chemicals and communicates findings to appropriate personnel.

Required Qualification

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years 2-5 years of related work experience.
