SUMMARY


The Label Operator I will be responsible for operating labeling machinery, ensuring the accuracy and quality of labels on our products meet customer standards, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Operate labeler equipment and perform routine maintenance to ensure continuous production.
  • Print labels per drawing and program specifications with the proper equipment.
  • Demonstrates proper use of primary label printing machines.
  • Monitor labeling processes to prevent slowdowns or errors in production.
  • Inspect labels for accuracy, security, and adherence to specifications.
  • Adjust equipment settings to accommodate different label designs or materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of label machine use, maintenance, and repairs and complete all necessary paperwork for the labeling router step.
  • Assist with setup tasks at scheduled times and contribute to process improvements.
  • Ensure that safety and environmental rules are strictly followed.
  • Ensure the workstation is clean, organized, and free of hazardous materials.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about operational issues.
  • Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience is required.
  • 6+ months of Label Operator-related experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred.
  • Lean manufacturing environment preferred.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Conversational in any other language is a plus.

JOB SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred.
  • Proficiency in math and technical subjects.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
As part of their job duties, the employee must sit for lengthy periods while operating a computer. They frequently use their hands to type, handle objects, and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. This role requires lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, reaching at or below shoulder level, and keyboarding.
