Pharmacy Technician

About the Position: This position is in the Naval Branch Medical Clinic,Yuma, AZ. Yuma is a city in southwest Arizona. Overlooking the Colorado River, Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park is home to the preserved cells and guard tower of a Wild West-era prison. Nearby, Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park was a 19th-century military warehouse and telegraph station. A 1907 steam locomotive on Pivot Point Plaza monuments the Southern Pacific Railroad, which once ran through the city.

• Process variety of complex medication orders using computerized order entry and/ or limited paper script.
• Perform substantial bulk compounding, including complex products.
• Perform technical functions with computer-based systems and software.
• Operate work area in an efficient and effective manner.
• Clarify questionable orders with ordering medical provider, answer routine questions concerning use, dosage, administration, drug interactions and side effects.
• Assist Pharmacist in the drug utilization, quality assurance, and improvement activities.
