The Manager Actuary, Life Projections will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing the life projection processes within the company. This includes forecasting life expectancy trends, analyzing demographic data, and developing models to predict future scenarios. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in actuarial science, statistics, or a related field, and possess excellent analytical and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the life projections team, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality output.
  • Develop and refine life projection models to forecast future trends and scenarios.
  • Analyze demographic data and trends to inform projections and business decisions.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate life projection insights into strategic planning.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices to ensure the company's projection methodologies remain cutting-edge.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Professional actuarial certification (e.g., ASA, FSA) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in life projections, actuarial analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, Python).
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally within the organization.
  • High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities.
